I wanted to share a little more insight into my NYC trip Timmy bagel store close encounter that is more detailed than my tweet.
On Friday of last week, 27 September, I planned a breakfast at Tompkins Sq Bagels with a friend from San Diego who was in town that full week for business, but planning to leave around 4pm to fly home. I wanted to meet around 8:30 am, but she suggested 10:00 am as she had a long evening the night before. I love bagels and eating NY bagels is a rite of passage. My friend prefers Brooklyn Bagels, but I thought it would be fun to at least visit Timmy's favorite bagel store. So I get there at 10 and Lisa arrives moments later. It was busy in the store, but I managed to get a small table near the door so that she can find me quickly. Once she arrived, we went up and placed our order. I noticed the cool merchandise to buy but I didn't want to lug it around with me because I was going to the Guggenheim after breakfast. I figured I'll go back to Tompkins for breakfast once more before I leave NY.
So Lisa and I are engaged in an animated conversation. Our bagels are delicious and we're feeling very New Yorky and having laughs and stuff. I had my back to the door, and Lisa was facing the door and could see everyone come in. At around 10:30 am, she stopped me in mid sentence (we were talking about Timmy and The King and Dune - I read The Messiah on the plane), and bouncing in, literally, bouncing, was lil Timmy Tim in full regular boy college student appearance with his black Legendary hat (producers of Dune), sunglasses, and ear buds. He made a bee line to the counter, ordered his bagel and hung back there for several minutes. I was stunned, Lisa was like WTF. He was standing there like an average American citizen waiting for their bagel. He had a hyper energy to him that was cute, he seemed antsy, but had that cute smile on his face. I did not take a picture because it would have been rude and it would have been hypocritical of me to do so since I have criticized people for posting pics of Timmy at the bagel shop eating and placing his order. He's in private citizen mode ordering his breakfast and how dare I intrude on this moment. The boys sitting next to us were giggling at our reaction. We were cool, not hyper, just fucking shocked to see him. We were literally just talking about him, and really enjoying being at a place he loved. We took his recommendation and as tourists, ate bagels there, and loved it. But we did not expect to actually see him there. I mean, that's like winning the lottery!
I did try to wave my hand to get his attention as he was leaving, and even then I felt guilty because he was in 'please don't disturb me mode' with the signature celebrity indicators of dark glasses, looking down at feet, walking very, very fast, ear buds, and baseball cap pulled down as far as it could go. Once he passed by, I just put my hand down and let him go on his business. I didn't yell his name, didn't follow him, didn't take a picture. I just had the experience of knowing he was there, doing what he said he does - ordering his favorite breakfast bagel at Tompkins. We continued to eat our bagels and talk, and about 20 minutes later, Lisa and I left.
It was a surreal NYC Timmy experience that I will never forget.
ps. I did go back to Tompkins on Monday morning so that I could buy the coffee mug or a t-shirt. But for merchandise, they only accept cash, I didn't have enough cash, so I just used my debit card for my bagel, coffee and orange juice. I was there for about 35 minutes and left.

Though I've read the shorter version via twitter, it's great to read it again and in a longer version. Thanks!

Now that I have participated in two red carpets for Timmy (Toronto-Beautiful Boy; New York-The King), as a fan, I'm going to "retire" from Timmy red carpets. I have met my goal and no longer need to do the red carpet. The TIFF experience was my first time for Timmy while at a film festival I have been doing red carpets since 2004. And Tuesday's red carpet in NY, as an invite, was to secure the opportunity to get Timmy to sign my bag. Otherwise I could have walked into the theater and sat there while the red carpet was going on and stood around in the lobby until Timmy passed by and try to get his attention that way. In any event, I think the time has come for me to focus on other public venues where Timmy will be, and places not as hectic and loud. I'll still attend premieres if I'm able to, but I won't be doing the fan pit again unless otherwise instructed to.
I'm so grateful for my experience at The King, but the SVA staff handled things really crazy, and over at the Quad there was a long line as well. In the future, I just look forward to being in a position to not have to stress out and wait long hours to see Timmy at an event, and you know what, there will be times where I don't need to interact with him at all - I'll just be there taking pictures and writing about it here at CC or at my Theatre of Zen blog. Think about it, how many times does he NEED to see me, and vice versa? Measured doses of exposure is the best thing moving forward as I don't want to be 'that fan' that is seen too often, if you know what I mean. It doesn't look good and being too obsessed and being seen in towns that they know you don't live in is not complimentary. I have been introduced to new contacts and I'm just very, very grateful how well received Club Chalamet has become to those close to Timmy, including himself.
I live in the Los Angeles area, and I'm a prolific film festival goer, a member of Palm Springs Int'l Film Festival, and a member of AFI, and a voting member of Film Independent. I'm being exposed to many opportunities to see talent share their insight and experiences about the film making process, and I look forward to further developing that with not only Timothée Chalamet and documenting all future events, but sharing that experience on other celebrities with like minded fans.
xoxo

Timothée doesn't have any new projects lined up at the moment as he is on a well deserved break from acting. I'm sure it'll be short, but a break is needed after the past 12 months of filming 3 separate films.

He definitely deserves a break.

This is pretty cool what Rob Pattinson has to say about Timmy and his career choices.
