A friend was able to buy a ticket to the Lungs play that will be on camera at the Old Vic in July. He asked them about 4k Miles and they told him they don't know when it will happen.
I know everything is all up in the air and this sold out show for 4k Miles will happen. But I'm starting to suspect that it will be in either late summer of 2021, or just pushed off into 2022. Keep in mind that Eileen is not getting any younger, so hopefully it's sometime in 2021 instead of delay another year until a vaccine is discovered or the threat of easy contagion is significantly lessened.

I am really anxious about Eileen. I mean I hope the actress lives to be 100 years old, but it is concerning waiting a long time for the play to be rescheduled. I will pray for her good health!
I just want to know the new dates even if they are far out so I can start deciding how to plan for 2021 and maybe even 2022. Until then everything else I want to do is on hold. Because the show is sold out, I agree that there is no way the Old Vic wont move heaven and earth to make the play happen. Summer 2021 would be ideal for me!

I have to book my flight by December to be able to use the credit. I am worried we won't know by then. As you said Simone, it could be 2022! If we don't know, I'll have to call VA and see if they'll refund me (doubt this is very good odds) or at least extend the credit.

My advice is just be persistent and dont give up with the airlines. I got my refund from British Airways only because I was able to talk to a human being and not an automated computer system. Due to the pandemic, I think the airlines will more than likely accommodate travel changes than not. Let's hope we have some new dates by the end of this year.

I hope by year's end we get new dates, it'll give us something to look forward to as well as start our planning, even if it's pushed off into 2022.

Guess what! I got an email from BA. BA has replaced my voucher for a new eVoucher, and according to the mail, the expiry date is Apr 30, 2022. 2022 is fine!!

I don't think Virgin Atlantic will be so kind. I'll call them, once I know more details. Hoping they'll extend my credit. Right now, I have to book by end of December and travel has to be used by April 2021. I just have a feeling 4000 Miles will be postponed until fall 2021 or maybe even later. I don't want to lose $400+!

The pandemic is so severe in the US, airlines should extend credits especially due to travel resctrictions to Europe. I hope so! Fingers crossed for you.

Broadway wont open at the earliest until May 2021. I am certain West End in London will be similar since the pandemic there is still not under control. 4000 Miles is looking more likely to premiere in fall of 2021 at the earliest or 2022.
Those dates do sound far away, but hasnt this tough and bizarre year of 2020 just flown by due to nonstop news. 2022 will be here before we know it and a 26 year old Timothee Chalamet will still need to be carded in most places in America for looking under 21. I recommend we direct our prayers to Eileen Atkins who could be either 87 or 88 years old when the show finally opens. It would be a triumph of hope overcoming the pandemic to see her return to live theatre at her age.
And remember how before the pandemic those of us who were going were talking about seeing the play, meeting for dinner, doing the stage door, going to the pub, maybe a day of sightseeing ... wouldn't it be wonderful to do all those things without having to worry about masks and social distancing and crowds.
I wanted to end my comment with those positive thoughts about why waiting to see the play in 2022 is not a bad thing!

I've long believed that 2021 was a crapshoot for live theater and in the past month, human beings have yet again proved that they are fucking idiots. We've only been dealing with this virus since March by wearing masks and social distancing. But like pre-school children, so many cannot follow the healthcare guidelines and wear a mask. We saw it with people taking their masks off to have a selfie with Timmy. WTF? And now, in France, the numbers are high again, as they are climbing in Italy and the Uk. So no, there will be no live theater before August 2021 because there are too many dumb assholes who can't help be a part of the solution. We'll see 4k Miles most likely in 2022, or maybe 2023 depending on Timmy's schedule, and I would not be surprised if Eileen is replaced. I wouldn't want that to happen, but right now, she's 86, she'll be 87 next June, and then 88 in 2023.

The world won't overcome the virus until massive vaccination. And we won't see 4k miles for a long time. Hard to accept though.

I just watched Armie on the James Corden show and he was in the middle of doing previews for The Minutes, when Broadway was shut down earlier this year. So Corden asked if it was going to be re-scheduled and Armie said for sure, yes, but it would be in 2022. So they all know theatre isn't happening in 2021.

2022 it is then for a better world and some fun times!!! History is so instructive. If you look at the 1918 flu pandemic, that one lasted about two years. I am thinking this pandemic may be two years at least too unless we can get a vaccine soon with 70% efficacy. But even then by the time the vaccine is distributed to billions of people, you are still looking at 2022 for a global recovery. I can be super patient for live theatre. I just want movie theatres to open again and people to be responsible so that we can watch movies like Dune and French Dispatch in 2021.
