Don't Look Up (2021)

Exciting news! Timmy is joining this excellent star-filled cast of Adam McKay's Don't Look Up, a Netflix film! It's referenced as a comedy, but due to the subject matter, it might be a black comedy - humor with a serious subject.

Filming will start before the end of the year:

The film follows two low-level astronomers who embark on a media tour to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that will destroy Earth.

What a great cast!!!

I have been a fan of the work of DiCaprio and Blanchett my entire life. Actually one of my favorite films of all time stars both of them ... The Aviator.

Timothee keeps picking these amazing projects with cool casts and top notch directors. And the premise of the movie sounds fun!

And look I've loved television since I was a kid like a lot of people. But isnt it a fascinating trend how A list movie stars are now flocking to television and streaming services in droves not just this year but the past 5 to 10 years?! Obviously HBO in the 2000s and Netflix in the 2010s changed the game.

Even though I love television, I am still hoping for big movie spectacles on giant screens with live audiences once again like with Dune.

As if Netflix needed any other assurance that “Don’t Look Up” will automatically be vying for awards consideration next year, these names immediately put it over the top. How can you not expect awards season love when you have Blanchett, Streep, DiCaprio, Hill, Lawrence, and Chalamet leading the way? How many Oscar nominations do those people have combined? Don’t worry, I counted. The correct answer is 40 Oscar nominations.

It’s obviously unknown what type of role each of these actors will have. Are the bulk of these cameos or will it be a true ensemble? We’ll have to wait and see. But on paper, this is one of the best casts we can remember. And all eyes are on McKay to make sure he takes advantage of this much talent.

Heard they start filming mid-Nov in Boston. They were even looking for extras to be in it. You could fill out the form online. Anyone from Boston by any chance? LOL This is such great news. So happy that he's going to be working on something new.

Definitely yes!! And we got a bunch of great pics today, too!! 
It's been raining for 4 days in Hungary, and will tomorrow, so some brightness is vital now.

So Adam McKay did a podcast and discussed this movie.  I haven't listened to it yet, but the link is below.  He starts talking about this movie around 11:33.

Someone who has listened to it gave a little summary, which I put below.  Seems McKay did not mention Timmy, which was disappointing. I hope this doesn't mean he only has a small/cameo role.  Hope we receive more info soon as it is supposed to start filming in November and I believe someone mentioned it was to end filming in February. Currently in pre-production and they have insane Covid prodicals in place and so far, no one has tested positive.

He says that he wrote this pre-pandemic and the cast has been circling for awhile but now they all call and tell him how timely it is for our current situation.

Thanks, I'm sure we'll hear a lot more very soon especially since they will start filming. I can't wait to see it on repeat on Netflix. Even if Timmy weren't in this, it's the type of film I love anyway, so McKay had me at the plot.

Apparently he's in Boston now. Yes, it says rumor but it'd make sense the cast might be there a bit earlier than shooting is supposed to begin:

I cant imagine what types of COVID19 protections actors and film crew must endure now. I wonder if you even can go out to eat around people during filming... I am thinking not. Big bubble!

So it looks like Timmy has been in a Covid-19 bubble for his filming in MA. Good on him. And that fan sounds a bit unhinged. We're in a pandemic, with mutated virus' added to the mix, so, no selfies for her. Jeez.
