With Timothée's 25th birthday coming up on 27 December, is anyone interested in combining monies to make a donation in his honor to a New York City charity to either support the LGBTQ community (ie., The Center) or a business that Timothée supports regularly? Last year I made a donation in his honor to The Center, but this year, because he's turning 25, I'm wondering if perhaps we can do a group donation to a place he admires. I know that the pandemic has affected Tompkins Square Bagels, and they have been robbed twice this year since the pandemic, most recently on the eve of October 30th where the front door glass was busted and the register was taken. Perhaps we can make a donation to them because they also provided food to frontline workers during the height of the pandemic, all while operating at a financial loss due to the pandemic. So, I wanted to get an idea if a) as a group, we can create a fundraiser and make a donation to the organization we, b) all agree to make a donation to. I think both The Center and Tompkins Square Bagels would appreciate a donation made in Timmy's name, to keep up the great work that The Center does for young NY LGBTQ persons, and support Tompkins, a well-loved bagel shop that Timmy lives part-time at, and a small local business which has suffered from the pandemic. Please let me know your thoughts. I'll post this at Twitter and Instagram and see if there's an interest to create a CC fundraiser group. If there is, I'll share the next step as to how the monies will be collected in a way that our International friends can contribute funds as well. THX FOR SPREADING THE LOVE! Thank you Juney4films, and welcome to Club Chalamet!!! Yes, I'm personally leaning towards TSB because the pandemic has really affected them, while still doing everything and anything possible to keep both locations open. But the two robberies have really made a dent in their tight finances, and the morale, but they are still going strong. I'm so grateful for your immediate support and I will certainly be making more updates in this thread with more information. Again, thanks and welcome to CC!

Additional information: Once a decision has been made on which organization to support, and if we have enough interested parties to jumpstart the fundraiser, I'll set up a fundraiser account at GoFundMe (the most recognized and fully vetted fundraising website we can trust). Additionally, once the fundraiser wraps up, I'll collect all the names of the donors and share a special message to the business receiving the funds, and send a very special private message to the birthday honoree via his team. I would like to conclude the fundraiser by Friday, 18 December so that funding can be released to the recipient and the birthday honors submitted by 23 December. Please let me know if you have ANY questions, or if you have any suggestions. Please share the link to this thread or my posts on twitter/instagram on your social media accounts. Together we can not only give a needy business a nice holiday donation, but also let Timothée know how much we care about him and wish him a Happy Birthday by supporting a business he loves. Thanks! https://www.instagram.com/p/CHa6XbqgJhy

It's a good idea. I don't know which one I should choose. Basically, both of them need the donation.

The Center, which is a non-profit organization, receives federal funding and grants, along with donations to continue to expand services. TSB is a small local business that needs to make a profit making bagels to pay sky-high NYC rent and their staff, on top of suffering from two robberies.

HI Alexx, thanks for joining Club Chalamet, and thanks for your interest in supporting this fundraiser. I think Timmy has enough socks (LOL!), and as a successful young actor, I'm thinking from this point forward, fundraisers in his name is the way to go.

This is a great idea and a beautiful way to spread love in the name of Timo Atriedes! I’m all for donating to both places but if I had to pick one I’d choose TSB. I had no idea they’ve been burglarized twice this year. ☹️

I was gonna do the birthday book thing, but this is a better idea. I'm Canadian, and contributing for Timmy is something I can do. So count me in - either option is fine with me.

Thank you so much Periain! This is a much more noble cause and I'm so happy that people are responding positively to this. I'll get the Go Fund Me established and a link to share later this week.

I'm waiting to hear back from the place the fundraiser will be set up for. I just want to make sure this was cool with them and we'll get things rolling soon. Thanks.

The proprietor of Tompkins Square Bagels, Chris, has joyfully accepted our fundraiser gift in honor of Timothée's 25th birthday. I have created the Go Fund Me page which I will share on Friday. I was really bummed out for them when I learned about their recent burglary, which surely was a shocking and unexpected emergency expense during such dire times. And with the pandemic disrupting business for them since March, and as we head into darker days over the next couple of months due to exponentially increasing infection rates for Covid-19, it's just yet another slap in the face that will be a strain for Tompkins and other small businesses in NYC. But to be honest, another thing is driving me to host this fundraiser for TSB. As many of you may recall, back on July 25th, TSB/Chris tagged me in a tweet to share cool info that Timmy visited his store. TSB and CC have been following each other since late 2019, and have had a few friendly exchanges. So it was all the more lovely that he tagged me in the tweet below that was eventually deleted by him after receiving a lot of harassments from a select group of Timmy stans who did not like the fact that Timothée was reported being in NYC at a particular time. TSB had to block some accounts because the harassment was that brutal. Prior to the tweet being deleted, it had hundreds of RTs and Likes. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDEzWsCgA2P I personally felt very embarrassed by this situation on behalf of all decent Timmy fans. That is not us and I feel compelled to make this right. Please join me in supporting this fundraiser and although the goal I have set is a standard default goal amount, but if we can somehow surpass it, that would be all the better. Thanks again for your support, and visit again tomorrow for the link to the fundraiser page. xoxo
