I've done many fundraisers in the past, and as fulfilling as they are in the end when the goal is met, it's still a very stressful and challenging project to manage. In my first fundraiser for this fandom, for Timmy's birthday, I'm amazed by the people who have donated thus far, and several have made second and third donations, while many people who follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and are active members of this forum, still have yet to make their first donation. I know all fundraisers don't appeal to all people, or they don't like the fundraiser beneficiary, or they don't really care much about me and don't want to support my initiative. And this all comes down to trust and likeability towards me, I get that, but this fundraiser is NOT about me.
The fundraiser is about celebrating Timothée's 25th birthday and raising monies for a great small business, that Timmy has been a regular patron of since he was a child, which has suffered from recent vandalism and burglary, on top of financial impact from this damn pandemic. People have ignored my outreach to them and I thought I had more allies in the fandom, but, that's not the case. This is why the fundraiser will have been opened for 4 weeks, to give people the time to money manage and plan to give at the minimal, $5, the cost of a bagel. Yes, we're in a pandemic, and money is tight for people, but obviously not for everyone, and donations have been as small as $5 and trust me, that is greatly appreciated because in this case, every dollar counts. Some people have refused my request to share this fundraiser link on their social media to spread the word, another sign of their lack of interest in supporting this fundraiser project. It is what it is. What I will say is that 1/3 of the people who have donated so far, I have never interacted with them before. They learned about the fundraiser and felt compelled to donate, simple as that. That says a lot about the giving and generous spirit of all who have donated thus far.
Yesterday was a great day of donations, I even had to help a woman from Russia to post her donation because Go Fund Me wasn't accepting her donation from her country. So she paypaled me her donation, and I added it to the fundraiser. This is just an example of the interest and devotion to this cause to donate something.
Brian is aware of this fundraiser and the birthday announcement video I am working on will feature a birthday fundraiser announcement message to Timothée and a scrolling list of the names of the donors under the title of 'Cast of Donors', similar to credits rolling at the end of a film.
I'll be ending the fundraiser just a few days earlier because I am going to end it on the Monday following Timmy's SNL appearance, December 14th, and this week will be the last fundraiser call to action.
So to all those reading who have donated, thank you so very much!! Chris, the owner of TSB is so impressed and moved by the monies raised thus far and just feels really honored that we're doing this for his business. As I stated in the original fundraiser announcement, one of the underlying reasons for TSB to be selected for this fundraiser from this fandom is to make up for the unwarranted harassment he received this summer from fans about Chris simply tweeting that Timmy visited the store in late July. He had to block people, and he deleted the tweet due to the negative attention. This did not reflect well on the fandom, and I particularly felt troubled by the reaction, and this is how I want to make up for it. For those who do plan to donate this week, please follow through as soon as possible so that each donation made in these final days can entice others to make a donation too. For those who I have engaged with on a regular basis here at the forum, and at Twitter and IG and you have no interest in supporting this fundraiser, well, ok.
Thanks all!

Here is the final edit of the birthday fundraiser video to include the name of one additional donor whom I helped make a donation and therefore, her name was not on the donor list at Go Fund Me. So in total, there were 37 donors who helped me with this fundraiser. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJWRvXJgHai

https://www.instagram.com/p/CKHwfvGA8Rq January 15th is National Bagel Day and TSB did a live IG about their relationship with Timmy—really sweet video, they’re so appreciative of him. I’m new here and didn’t join in time to donate but I think what you all did was amazing! If it turns into an annual thing count me in for 2021.
