Yippee! New casting news for Timothée and the director that put him on the map, Luca Guadagnino! Also starring is the gorgeous Taylor Russell of Waves.

While I'm happy he might be working with Luca again, I don't really think I want to see a movie with him involving cannibalism. That whole subject disgusts me tbh. And I'm assuming he'll be playing a cannibal himself which turns me off even more. This is all just my opinion of course. I know others are excited to see him in it. And to each his own. But personally it's not for me.

I totally understand Jenna, cannibalism is disturbing, very disturbing. But if I can say one thing, this is a very daring direction Timmy is going into and perhaps it's by design to shake off some overly adoring fans who still think he's a kid.

Obviously recent events and allegations against a certain someone (I sympathize with the ex wife) have colored my views on this new project. But I try to never judge a film without first watching it or a book without reading it. I generally dont like when critics or fans prejudge things before we fully understand the story.
Cannibalism is certainly not my cup of tea for a film story, but then again I do get sucked into watching the Silence of the Lambs when it repeats on television due to the amazing performances. I mean Anthony Hopkins is one of favorite actors. While I love a good ghost or scary movie like The Others and Poltergeist, the horror genre is not usually my passion. I will say though I have watched on television during the pandemic with my Dad Svengoolie who shows on Saturday evenings these classic horror films like the Bride of Frankenstein from the 30s through 60s. I have learned to appreciate better the genre and its creative often metaphorical storytelling.
In conclusion, this movie involves subject matter that I am not as really excited about verses say Dune. But i support Timothee and wish him the best and hope it's a success. Always good to hear him working on a new film!

The horror genre is very far from me, but I think with Luca involving this movie won't be a traditional horror. So I'm interested in the project.

Oh yes, I support Timmy's choices for movie roles as well. He's certainly made great choices in the past and given some absolutely amazing performances, especially in BB. And as I said, I was happy to hear he and Luca might be working together again. It's really just the subject matter I find disturbing and unappealing. But I of course do wish him well with it and all of his future projects.

The New York Times 2017 Great Performers - Timothee Chalamet: The Cannibal
When the news first broke yesterday this video popped right back into my mind. I remember thinking at the time that Timmy would be great in a horror film and watching this again makes me really excited for this new film (the fact that the NYT picked this topic is an odd coincidence). I love horror films so the topic doesn’t concern me at all—this short just shows it’s an opportunity for Timmy to flex the acting chops we all know and love. I’ve seen Waves many times because I think Taylor Russell is incredible, so between the two of them I think this is going to be a great film.

If you haven't yet, please consider following Camille DeAngelis to show your support! We must especially support female authors.

I am looking forward to reading the book, it sounds like an exciting project. I love a good vampire story and don’t really see how this subject matter in the context of a fantasy horror story is any different. If Timothée has chosen to work on a project then I trust his judgement and I am sure it will be excellent

More context about the film, these are posted at Amazon.com for Bones & All:
2015 Alex Award Recipient!
Maren Yearly (CC Edit: To be portrayed by Taylor Russel) is a young woman who wants the same things we all do. She wants to be someone people admire and respect. She wants to be loved. But her secret, shameful needs have forced her into exile. She hates herself for the bad thing she does, for what it's done to her family and her sense of identity; for how it dictates her place in the world and how people see her--how they judge her. She didn't choose to be this way.
Because Maren Yearly doesn't just break hearts, she devours them. Ever since her mother found Penny Wilson's eardrum in her mouth when Maren was just two years old, she knew life would never be normal for either of them. Love may come in many shapes and sizes, but for Maren, it always ends the same-with her hiding the evidence and her mother packing up the car.
But when her mother abandons her the day after her sixteenth birthday, Maren goes looking for the father she has never known, and finds much more than she bargained for along the way.
Faced with a world of fellow eaters, potential enemies, and the prospect of love, Maren realizes she isn't only looking for her father, she's looking for herself.
Camille DeAngelis' Bones & All is an astonishingly original coming-of-age tale that is at once a gorgeously written horror story as well as a mesmerizing meditation on female power and sexuality.

It's definitely a movie for Luca G. Maybe I'll read the book sometime.
