You say his "ethereal green eyes will be tinted blue once melange becomes a part of Paul's diet on planet Arrakis." But, he will not have the eyes of ibad because the saga of Dune continues...
For now, the Sleeper must awaken.

This article discusses the financial gamble of making Dune and having it be profitable (ie. Successful at the box office).
I haven't given much thought about the rating of Villeneuve's Dune, but I'm speculating that it will be PG-13, just to get butts in those seats. Star Wars was PG-13, there's no need for Dune to be R-rated.

As I love Star Wars and Game of Thrones, too, I can tell it's a widely correct article.

I am flying cross country today and have been reading "Dune." As a science fiction and fantasy fan I should have done this years ago, but with the new movie it is a priority. I am 100 pages into "Dune" after just one day and I am surprised how fast I am reading the book. Good sign! It reads faster than the law, contracts, and policies I usually review Haha. I will definitely share some thoughts when finished. I am liking the weird mix of science, religion, history, and mysticism. I am already visualizing the actors in their roles which is pretty cool. I really want to see Timothees costume to see the "look."

Dang, at your pace, you'll finish it before I do. I'm glad you're enjoying it, and like you, I'm shocked I haven't read this much sooner.

I can read quickly on a 5.5 hour flight to California. Usually I dont have that large block of time unless I am on a beach.

Don't worry about not to read Dune before. I'm a sci-fi fan, and I've never read Asimov, sooner or later it'll happen. A matter of time. With finishing the first book I encourage you to read the other Dune books (even Brian Herbert's prequels). It's worth exploring the entire world of Dune. The first book is a prologue.

As I have finished Book One, i.e. 300 pages, of Dune, am I allowed to spoil the book on the forum? Or in a separate thread? I am really enjoying what I am reading so far and see some really awesome dramatic scenes that I want to mention for discussion but didnt want to spoil if I shouldn't.
