I honestly did not plan to create a new fan community for another actor. But I'm so excited about the career trajectory of Timothée Chalamet, and the potential for him to establish a brilliant career, that I felt compelled to create this fan message board. With him being so young, this gives us an opportunity to celebrate and be a part of his career early on. Although this board was created post-Call Me By Your Name, we're all still so enamored with that film and loved Timmy's Oscar nominated performance as Elio, that we just want to know more about him and know what is coming up for him.
As an older fan of Timmy's, I realized that something was missing for someone like me to fully enjoy the fun of engaging with like minded fans. I found myself easily frustrated with what I felt was an immature response to Timothée as a person and as an actor. I bore easily of silly tween talk about him, and the unrealistic high expectations for Timothée that his mostly young fans have. If you have read stuff from fans/stans at Twitter and on Tumblr, for instance, and if you were embarrassed or pissed off by some comments, then I hope what I created here will be more to your liking. Although Club Chalamet (CC) was created for the 35+ age group of fans, I definitely welcome younger fans here who want to converse with older fans and help foster mature discussions about Timothée. Although he's currently only 22, Timothée is incredibly intelligent, mature, and wise for his age, and I want discussions here to be a bit more high brow but still fun! People who are shocked and amazed that Timmy uses certain big words may not quite fit in here because along with age and education, comes a diverse vocabulary and exposure to certain things in life for people exposed to a progressive lifestyle and creative cultural landscape.
As CC grows, new forums will be created to focus on each of his films, print/tv interviews, photo shoots, premieres, awards, gossip, etc. However, CC will solely focus on Timothée Chalamet, not his co-stars (mention them in passing is fine, but no topics dedicated to friends and co-stars), this is Club Chalamet.
Without further adieu, please join us in developing this community in support of Timothée's career and life. Thanks!
