As I wrote earlier, I realized I had to jump on flights. I checked yesterday and there were plenty to chose from. But today, at 4pm PST, Delta flights, which are Non-stop to Toronto, were practically sold out. My preferred red eye flight still had some seats, so I had to get them with a Friday departure, and coming back Sunday night. So I can only see BB Saturday night, or Sunday morning. Any other time,... well, there will be plenty of other movies to see. So, hopefully I'll luck out. But based on where I'm departing, Hollywood... I had to buy my ticket now.

Does anyone know the details on the plot for Ben is Back (Hedges/Roberts movie)? Initially, the description on IMDB lead me to believe it was a thriller - something to do with a young guy who is in with drug dealers/gangsters. Roberts is the mom who defends the home. Now, more of the articles position it as a teen with a drug addiction as the focus. Hopefully, people won't see it a "cancelling" the other family addiction movie, BB. Could the PR team be spinning BiB to emphasize the addiction and downplay a possible crime story element? (While I am not a big Julia Roberts fan, I love Courtney B. Vance who plays the stepdad.)
Also, congrats to those of you going to TIFF!

I also got the idea that Ben Is Back was more thriller at first, but the latest descriptions I read left me in doubt. I think I read though that everything happens in just one day in that movie, so for sure it can't tackle addiction as much in depth as BB.
Beautiful Boy premieres on September 7th, according to Nic Sheff.

So he says it's the 7th eh? Oh well, guess I'll have to catch it at a second screening on Saturday or Sunday.

I don't live in the U.S. so I can only wait for Blue-ray. Sigh.

I wish I could go, so badly. I'll have to pray the movie comes out in Italian theatres before the Oscar ceremony, which is not a given, sadly.
What are your thoughts about the movie going to NYFF? On AwardWatch they seem to think BB is not suited for that festival.

I personally am elated that BB will have its World Premiere there as it is the biggest and most film fan friendly of all the festivals. It has nothing to do with the quality of the film for it not to possibly play at NYFF, but if by chance it does, it would be a very good thing.

I am attending and hoping to get an individual ticket for either the premiere or second screening. This will be my first ever film fest so I’m not quite sure how things work.

Will you be traveling to Toronto from a long distance? If so, make the most of TIFF and don't just focus on that one movie, make the trip an opportunity to become familiar with TIFF because Timmy will be going to TIFF in the future. The better you understand how TIFF works, the more fun you will have. Read the latest info and 'how to TIFF' FAQs at the website.

Yes, I’m taking the red eye from SF to LA and onto Toronto on Thursday night. Most likely will be my only trip to TIFF. I plan on seeing a few movies if I can fit them in😊 Thanks!

If you're planning to go to TIFF, check your PASSPORT right now to make sure it's valid for travel. Trust me, I know from the experience of friends traveling to Canada and Mexico.

Hey Carly, and welcome!
If you just want to attend the BB premiere, which we think will be on Friday, then you will have to wait until single ticket day sales on Sept 3rd. If there are any left for you to buy.
