I so wish I could go. Sigh.
So no NYFF for Beautiful Boy either. Unless it shows up at the London Film Festival, I think TIFF will be it, right?

I'm not surprised that BB will not be at NYFF. I know one person from my TIFF days who was expecting it to play at NYFF, saving him a trip to Toronto. I need to check in with him to see if this changes his mind.
So it looks like TIFF has the exclusive festival world premiere.

As someone who is really not well-versed in the world of movie festivals, I was just wondering if it's a usual practice for a movie like BB, which is supposed to be a big Oscar contender, to do just one festival? Does it mean anything and what does it depend on? CMBYN did so many festivals last year, so I think that might have confused me a little bit.

Does it mean anything and what does it depend on? CMBYN did so many festivals last year, so I think that might have confused me a little bit. Not all Oscar contenders have editing process completed in time for the fall festivals, some come out just a few weeks in December to qualify, and often go on to do well at the Oscars. As I mentioned to many others on Twitter, it's not the quantity of film festivals, but the quality. TIFF is an absolutely fantastic festival for BB, and if it's the only one, that makes it even more of a hot ticket at TIFF to see. So don't worry about the number of festivals it screens at, it's screening at one of the best to use as an Oscar springboard.

I'm open to attending TIFF on Friday, and therefore, leaving on Thursday red-eye, but it's really all dependent on how the film schedule is and if I can get the Saturday screening without too much of a hassle.

For me TIFF is just a dream that will never come true, sadly lol
The latest article on EW confirms the premiere will be on the 7th, as Nic Sheff tweeted.

I knew the ticket is going to be hot since it's the only film festival it looks like it will screen at.

I changed my flight plans, I'll be arriving in Toronto a day before, early Friday, to allow me to enjoy all of Friday and Saturday w/o rushing. I'm very relieved and happy.

So that's three screenings within 24 hours for fans. Sweet Jesus, thank God I changed my flight plans. If I still arrived Saturday morning at 6:30 am, it would have been tight trying to get from airport to Ryerson by 9am. I would stil have my luggage with me. Whew! But this screening arrangement is exactly as I had thought it would be!
