Finally new stuff! The article is informative but full of spoilers, as if the author can't suppress his urge to share his passion about the movie. Excited!!!

I'm going to wait until my issue arrives to read it old school.
I wish Timmy would get his own EW cover story by year's end. He would deserve it as a potential supporting actor Oscar nominee.

I hope he gets some magazine spread and hopefully a cover. Also, I'd love to see him in one of those Actors Roundtables, hopefully The Hollywood Reporter's since they actually post them on youtube, unlike the LA Times one which he did last year and we never got to see.

This is a great article - nice highlighting of TC's performance. Has anyone heard about any screening reports for Ben is Back? The EW article on BIB says it is about a heroin addict son and concerned mom; impact on the family. While it is based on a 24 hour period, not a retrospective of a multi-year struggle with drug addiction like BB, I'm wondering if it will be seen as a direct competitor to BB? Too similar so it dilutes interest in BB?

I don't like Awardswatch but they say it's confirmed that BB was rejected by Venice. Does anyone here have info about this? Hope the case is it was not rejected but Amazon chose to premiere BB at TIFF.

Hope the case is it was not rejected but Amazon chose to premiere BB at TIFF. It was confirmed by Barbera. "The festival did screen Felix van Groenigren’s Beautfiul Boy, which Barbera qualified as “excellent.” That one is a Toronto world premiere, but for Barbera, “we can’t take everything.” deadline.com/2018/07/venice-film-festval-alberto-barbera-interview-2018-netflix-1202433397/

Thank you very much! Well it looks like it has nothing to do with the film's quality but more with politics issues.

Despite the shooting and editing circumstances written above and the Venice article I'm eager to watch BB and Timmy in it. The trailer convinced me that BB would be a wonderful movie. And I hope it'll Unfortunatelly there's no release date in Hungary for now. In the meantime I'd like to pre-order the movie editions of both books via UK Amazon, but they couldn't be found there. I guess both books can be pre-ordered just from the US. I'd be better to order from UK in Europe. I think over to pre-order from the US.

This doesn't sound good.... However not every film nominated by Venice is good right? Many films are pretty bad actually, like Downsizing last year. Sorry I don't watch many Venice nominated films, so I don't know how to judge this news. Because BB delivers very important messages to the society, I hope it gets wide social recognition, not just critic acclaims/awards. I will be happy if it's a similar case to Lion in which the audience like it though the critic review is so so. Oh my stomach hurts while waiting for TIFF...

Venice along with all film festivals have the right to reject films they deem good or bad as not a good fit for their festival. Personally, Venice is very old school Italian boys film festival, heck, they are neck deep in controversy this year for its yet again lack of recognizing women film makers (at least TIFF is cognizant of this and went out of their way to welcome female directors with open arms). Yet again, they only have accepted one film made by a woman. This in of itself marks a huge problem I have with Venice and I'm glad BB is not screening there. I can't stress enough that it doesn't matter which film festival BB is NOT playing at, but instead, focus on the outstanding, and most popular film festival that BB will have its world premiere at - TIFF. Even TIFF rejects hundreds, upon hundreds of titles - film festivals can't screen everything. www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/venice-film-festival-womens-groups-demand-action-gender-bias-1133852
