I am seeing Captain Marvel in two weeks with coworkers. I love all the Marvel movies, even though some are more "meh" than great. It is so amazing how successful this franchise is around the world. I hope it continues for years. It is nice too that three generations of my family can enjoy and discuss the films. With regard to Timothee, I hope he can get cast in a Marvel film one day. I pray though he will be so successful in a "Dune" franchise. Unless he is a DC fan... Haha. I do love Batman and Wonder Woman. I have to watch Aquaman.
Three generation? Fantastic. I saw the film with my mother, she loves all the Marvel films, too. And DCs. Sometimes I'm just her company in the cinema, though I like MCU's movies. I haven't seen Wonder Woman, yet. I keep saying one day I'll see, but never happens.

I just got my ticket to see Captain Marvel this afternoon. I like both fandoms, Marvel and DC, so I don't play into that rivalry which I think is more unhealthy than for fun shits and giggles. In any event, I'll share my review later this evening.
Captain Marvel kicked complete ass, I totally loved Brie Larson in this origin story of Carol Danvers, the original Avenger. I don't read the comics, so I don't know all the deep details of each and every super hero, and I only knew a little about Captain Marvel. But since she's female, I had to support this film. I just loved it. I'm still so high from the film, that I bought a Capt Marvel faux leather jacket from Hot Topic to wear to Comic Con in July. LOL!!

I finally saw "Captain Marvel" tonight with friends and really enjoyed it. As a kid from the 90s, I absolutely got a kick out of all the references and setting. It's funny looking back at Blockbuster for example and remembering how I would rent a movie from there. I thought Bree Larson played Carol Danvers in a different way than I expected which made me happy. Her low key style was cool and I always was left wanting to know more about the character. Captain Marvel was great and is a worthy addition to the Marvel universe. I also was amazed how they realistically de aged Nick Fury and Phil Coulson. Looking forward to Avengers Endgame next month!
The trailer dropped for Joaquin Phoenix's The Joker, a film I am very excited to see. I'm not one of those fans where I pledge allegiance to either DC Comics or Marvel, I love them both. But there's something very special about the Batman universe, and The Joker is an important, influential, and a particularly sinister villain to Batman. I'm calling it already - Joaquin could get nominated and finally win an Oscar for this role, perhaps?
BTW, Joaquin is one of Timmy's favorite actors, he just loves the guy.

"Gladiator" is also one of my favorite movies due to all the great performances including by Joaquin. "AM I NOT MERCIFUL" scene just blows me away every time I watch. "Gladiator" was the first rated R movie I was allowed to see in theatre with friends. I cant believe it's almost 20 years old now.
And I also love "Walk the Line." Amazing portrayal of Johnny Cash!
