Two fans in Budapest got a picture with Timothée today, so it seems that filming for The King has moved to Hungary today.

Yes, the production is in Budapest now that the wedding and coronation scenes filmed in England are wrapped.
I think the main challenge for Timothee as Henry V goes far beyond the question of his hairstyle - modified by careful cutting.
And that is whether he can summon the required dignity and command authority to believably be the King commanding his outnumbered
army at the critical Battle of Agincourt. Chalamet's acting prowess will be put to the test when he begins to declaim the film's
version of the "Band of Brothers" speech, and later as he commands his calvary on maneuver. Critical to this film's success will be
whether his acting is strong enough to become his character - to be the young and valiant king, not the 23 year old actor in period dress.
Personally I believe Timothee can pull it off. If he does, a 2nd Oscar nomination will almost certainly come his way. If not, then
heavy duty historical epics will most likely not be on his future shooting schedule.

When news got out of Timmy being cast in this I did some research on the previous movies, to get an idea of what this could look like and I saw both Kenneth Branagh and Laurence Olivier were nominated for an Oscar for portraying Henry V. So it seems like the material can definitely be Oscar worthy. We'll see about Timmy's performance.
An actor who worked on the movie said his English accent is spot on, so that's already good news.

Some fans were worried that Timothée would have a problem pulling off a British accent. I felt with the right dialogue coach, he would be fine. I'm glad to see I was proven right.

hi, i run an updates account for the king (@thekingfilm on twitter and instagram) so i have a load of information on the cast, crew, and locations. there's not much information on the filming locations in Hungary as of yet, but at the moment the cast and crew are in Budapest. as for the accent stuff, from what extras working on the film have said and people who visited the set, his accent is great and i trust the dialect coach!

I'm already following you, thanks for keeping us updated on everything The King.
I'm so excited about this movie. There is so much potential for Timmy to show a lot of range in his acting. I'm looking forward to see the battle scenes and the famous speech, which I guess will be included. I wonder if we'll see also a wilder side of Henry V in the beginning, before he becomes the king and he's just a young man.

Taking on this role seems like a very smart move for Timothee. It provides a broader spectrum of his range and as a Netflix film does not carry the same box office expectations and pressure. I was so happy to hear that his accent is on point as that is where he could really get beat up on by critics and viewers.

I think it's a dream role for someone that age. It's not often people in their early 20s get to lead in a movie of that scope. If the film ends up being good, it will be a very smart career choice for Timmy. Besides, I think it's challenging for him, which is what I think he looks for in roles. I hope it's good also because it's taking so much of his time this year, it will suck if it ends up being bad.

I think The King is going to really put Timothée in the spotlight. An American kid playing Henry V ( nee Prince Hal)! It's like his parents knew this would be an opportunity for him in the future as they gave him the middle name of Hal. They knew their baby boy was a prince from birth. LOL! With a serious All-Star cast, this film has all the makings of being a great hit and Oscar/Emmy bait. Production begins on Netflix's The King |

i think the film is going to be a bigger deal than we think. the budget is huge and they seem to be putting a lot of effort into it. i think it's a great role for timothée because there's lots of space to showcase his acting ability but also to demonstrate his versatility and willingness to transform himself for a role, physically, mentally and by learning new skills. not to mention the epic cast, I think Netflix are angling for a big hit if I'm honest

If the film is going to be good, as I believe, I really hope the industry gives it a fair chance at awards even though it is Netflix.

I am genuinely suprised when I found they adhered to historical details like the bowl cut, walking bare-foot during processional and the scar on Timmy's left face. Judging by these details I agree this project may be bigger than I expected earlier
