I read 4 or 5 reviews from polish critics and only one of them was bad. Two gave it an 8/10. Woody Allen's movies are not everyone's cup of tea and his characters are often irritating so I'm not sure I'll like it but I want to see Timmy in it. I'll definitely check it out when it's released in Paris in September.

LOL! And that's what makes his films quirky and interesting. 'Rainy Day' will follow his same 'crazy people' formula.

They are not usually my cup of tea and the trailer for me was kind of "meh" but I'll watch it at some point, if we ever get it here. This will be one time where all of Europe will get a movie before we do! I have no clue when/if it will be shown in the US. Maybe just streaming at some point??

There are 3 people on the CMBYN FB page who saw it today in Poland. All 3 liked it (they are Timmy fans, so not sure how much to read into 3 comments). One said it was light, pleasant and funny and Timmy was great. The person who wrote this was afraid they wouldn't like it and it would be boring. But that was not the case. Another said it was a super movie and Timmy was fantastic. So nice to hear positive comments at least. Not sure when it will come out here in the US. Great! It's more than enough. No news about the Hungarian release so far. Luckily I like Allen's movies.

That's just based on the LWL review. Just one review praises the performances so far.

I wish it'd be released in the US, but unfortunately, I don't ever see it happening. :-(

I read in the paper that Woody Allen has settled his lawsuit with Amazon Studios. So I wonder if this means that A Rainy Day in NY might be released in the US now? I hope so!

No. Amazon wiped their hands of anything to do with Allen. The film still needs a US distributor... but everyone is scared to touch him because of the #MeToo backlash bad PR. Best bet is for us to buy the Blu-ray DVD when it's available for purchase from a Canadian distributor.

That's true. I didn't even think of it that way. I was just thinking now that the lawsuit is settled he could find another distributor for it so it could be shown in the US. But unfortunately, I guess not.
