When will they give the details on the NY premiere I wonder? I'd imagine it'd be soon. I need to make plans and it would help if I knew when and where exactly. lol

It should come very soon, in the next day or so. At least you have a head start by already being in the area. LOL!

www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20190910000747BIFF (Busan International Film Festival) Last week, the festival announced this year's lineup of 303 films from 85 countries. The list included four Netflix films -- "The King" by David Michod, "The Two Popes" by Fernando Meirelles, "Marriage Story" by Noah Baumbach and "I Lost My Body" by Jeremy Clapin. It is the second consecutive year that BIFF has invited Netflix originals to its non-competition categories. Last year, Alfonso Cuaron's "Roma," the Coen brothers' "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs" and Orson Welles' "The Other Side of the Wind" were screened at BIFF for the first time. "The King," directed by David Michod, is set to visit the festival as part of its Gala Presentation, one of the most prestigious sections of BIFF, presenting notable works by influential filmmakers."BIFF might not be as Netflix-friendly as the Venice Film Festival, but we don't boycott Netflix titles," Jay Jeon, BIFF's festival director, said in a Seoul press conference held Wednesday last week. " As long as the film is good like 'Roma,' we will always screen it. This is why we invited 'The King' to the Gala Presentation this year."

You're right, I just went to see his tweet. it was posted 5 hours ago. It's been a busy day for me so that's why I missed it, but that's cool.
Well, I have some thinking to do about my trip. Extending by a day can be pricey, but, it's the day after my birthday.

I know we will find out more information soon but based on your knowledge since the premiere is being held on a Tuesday night on October 1, is the film likely part of the New York City film festival?

No, they'd announced the films that were going to be at the New York Film Festival and The King wasn't listed. I don't know if it's going to be a part of another film festival. There are so many in NYC so I guess it could be. But it could also just be at a regular theater.

What a big surprise! Fingers crossed for all of you. Would you consider flying to NY for this premiere? We can meet up. It would be great! Alas, I have no passport, I don't need it, travelling via Europe is permitted by ID card. Maybe I need Visa, I don't remember the details, it's complicated to arrange a trip to the USA from here. And I'm going to Italy on Friday.

No, The King will have its own separate North American premiere in NYC. It's not part of NYFF.

Simone, are you already in NYC? Or you're traveling there for the premiere?

I've announced since February, that I'll be in NYC from Sept 26 to Oct 1st, but now that the premiere will be there on Oct 1st, I'll extend my stay for one more day. I'll depart on the 2nd. I opted for NYFF over TIFF this year.

Yes, you'll need a passport to enter the US, don't know if citizens of Hungary need a Visa, but probably.

I'm seeing that people are thinking that they can buy tickets to the North American premiere of The King in NY on October 1st. Unfortunately, people are thinking that this is a public screening, it will not be, it'll be private. The red carpet is public and for the fans to see the stars and cast. Per this description I found on Google, perhaps this will help explain and allow people to understand that a) The King premiere will be private, and b) it will be separate from the NYFF, where if it were a part of the film festival, you could buy a ticket. I found this query on a generic Google search: Here's another source: ( Hollywood Movie Premieres)
