I think you're right Lucy123. Just this morning, according to Brian on twitter, the release date is not set yet.

I am glad The King is getting some hype. We need a trailer now. I want to see Timothee exclaim "Once more unto the breach!!!"

We desperately need a trailer. The shooting was finished in last Aug. So far from now, and we haven't seen a photo or a teaser since then. I'm so exited about this movie, because Timmy is in a leading role, I like history movies, and a lof of scenes of the film (a half, 2/3) was shot in my country, places where I was before. I think the countryside is rarely seen in American films.

What country do you live? Hungary? I've only had opportunities to visit Italy and the United Kingdom, but I want to do other parts of Europe as well one day. I hear Eastern Europe is beautiful and amazing which is probably why a lot of movies get filmed there.

Yes, I live in Hungary, and Dune will be shot here, too. Not that it means anything special, I'll get news from the internet, eh... But I'm proud of these movies, The King, Dune shot here. Indeed there're a lot of beautiful places in Eastern Europe, I suppose it's one of the reasons The King was partially shot here.

I am part of the CMBYN Facebook page and there is a guy there who seems to be an industry insider, of sorts, and he mentioned, about a month ago, that he saw a rough cut of The King, a few days prior. He mentioned it was good and Timothee was different in it (in a good way) - he will surprise a lot of people. He mentioned that everyone was very good in the movie except Lily Rose. He said she wasn't very good and suspects her part will be cut down. I assume this person is legit, so take this for what its worth.
I can't wait to see it. Hoping it will premiere at TIFF as I am going to attend. But will see!

Interesting tidbit. I hope it is a good movie. There is certainly a lot of dramatic possibilities with King Henry V. And Timothee looks just like some of the portraits of the man which is so eeiry. But yeah I'm curious how they will do the promotional tour. I want to see some posters and photos soon.

I'm sure The King will be a very entertaining film, and I'm very much looking forward to it. I have no idea if it'll measure up for awards consideration, and if it doesn't, that's fine, not everything that Timmy will be in should even be at that caliber. But I'm glad to hear that he held his own and does a good job. Just as we have come to expect. Looking forward to trailers and official stills from the film.

I agree. What I love about Timothee and why I am a fan is as an actor he seems to have this great ability to play different roles whether in independent films, highbrow fare, or blockbusters. I think his choice in projects to date is wonderful. My favorite actors are those who are versatile and who can tackle so many different genres. I believe Timothee is just getting started. It's fun following his projects.

Oh definitely. Timmy is not going to be one of those actors that only does big budget films. He's going to flip between big budget and indies, like any well-rounded actor would do. I think he may use money he earns from his blockbusters, to help produce indies in the future.

I love the roles he chooses. He is so versatile - I mean compare CMBYN, BB, The King, Little Women, The French Dispatch, Dune. All so different and varied. I love that about him.

Netflix won't have any films showing at Cannes this year. It's a mess. So that confirms that The King won't be there. Most likely it'll premiere at Venice Film Festival for that European cache.

I never even considered The King going to Cannes - doesn't seem a good fit at all. And if that guy on FB saw a rough cut 4-5 weeks ago, it certainly doesn't seem completed yet.
