^Focus group questions are more about the pacing of a film, which scene was the best, which scene you don't like, and why. Which romantic pairings did you like the most, which worked better, etc. They ask questions in an effort to make the final product something that most people will enjoy. Great feedback was given because for the most part, we all really, really enjoyed it.
One thing I want to address is that some people may be hyper critical of a film because they don't want to like it. And if they already have issues with Timmy, they will nitpick on him as well. For those thinking that he was miscast, they are delusional. Timmy can't do anything about his appearance, he's just a very attractive guy. So some possible future criticism may be that they think he was too attractive for the role, so, brace yourselves for that. The actresses in the film are all lovely, but, they may look a little dull next to him.
Ahem.

I kind of hope they don't rely too heavily on what some people say. I read an update earlier from some blog that said a person who went last night thought Timmy and Emma were miscast. They are out of their minds, in my opinion. He is perfect for the role, and Emma is good as well.

yeah, whoever wrote that was totally dishonoring their NDA. Some people just are obnoxious and don't want to follow the rules. I've seen similar attitudes after test screenings and it's as if they took joy in disparaging a performance or a film just because they were lucky enough to see it. Assholes are everyone, and some sneak into test screenings. So just ignore that opinion, they are troll contrarians.

I avoid places like AW because when I went there, people who haven't even seen the film are trashing it based off of the script that leaked long ago. And one who did see it said the people screening it begged people not to talk about it because it could affect the outcome of the final product... And yet there they were, bragging and dragging some of the people. I've only been to a few advanced screenings, usually Disney films which wished to focus on the younger kids thoughts (hence me being curious about focus groups) but people should take pride in that contract, you know? Your opinion and reaction means something to the studios, so for some to be disrespectful and put out negative buzz before the film is even finished? Take their word and opinion with a grain of salt. I am glad you were able to see it, though. It sounds like it's going to be a beautiful film once it's finished.

You are definitely a voice of reason loveforart, and thank you for joining CC! I avoid AW like the plague, it's not a good place, they embrace trolls because the admin team there have troll tendencies. Test screenings are test screenings. They pull select people from the larger group to ask specific questions about a film. Anyone who attends a test screening and then go to AW to mock the process, are the type of people who aren't mature enough to attend in the first place, and like I said, they're trolls and should be ignored. You are asked to not say anything about a film because it's a work in progress, it's not finished yet, that's all. You have to be a unique type of asshole to go to a test screening with the sole purpose of giving spoilers and dissing a film, and AW allows that to happen there. It's not a legitimate space for mature cinephiles.

Thanks for the welcome! I saw you remark on Timmy being so wonderful with that subtle tweet,I decided to check out the forum because I really enjoy his work.
Yuck to all of that nonsense. I think those type of people get some sort of high off of seeing such a highly anticipated film before everyone else, and they want to burst that excitement by acting like a jerk and saying "Don't waste your money!" I don't care to know people like that or interact with them on line.
So do you think the film will be ready in time for TIFF? I can't wait to see the cast together promoting this film.

The same people also smeared Beautiful Boy months before its release. And some of those people where supposed Timmy fans... but based on one guy's twitter account, he was more of a stalker, so his negativity made the bashing worse. Yes, I think Little Women will be at either TIFF or NYFF, or perhaps both.

A STALKER? Creepy! That type of behavior is to be expected though. They don't admire the work of the person they have an obsession with, which means the stalker can easily be harsh towards the person they are constantly watching. Beautiful Boy was his BEST work to date, in my opinion. Such a raw and emotional performance that captured the horrors of what addiction can do to not only a person, but their entire family. I was so disappointed to see he wasn't nominated for an Oscar.
This is exciting to hear. This means real lovers of his work and the other cast members' work will get to see it.

The stalkers are the worse, they think they own Timmy and are self-appointed authoritarians of his life and career, and can criticize him, unjustly, if need be. I think it's a messed up, and I steer clear of them. You will enjoy reading the Beautiful Boy thread, we had a lot to say about his snub. I still get 'pissed off' aftershocks when I think of his deliberate snub.

That's totally toxic behavior and very disrespectful. To feel THAT entitled over someone who doesn't even know you? Madness!
I am looking through the old topics now, but I'll get to that now. My good friend called me the morning the announcements were made in such a rage because he was snubbed. Don't even get me started on the random love some had for Green Book 😤😤😤 Not to drag another actor's work, but still puzzled by Mahershala Ali not being more vocal to the director to focus more on Don. (I bring that up since he won best supporting that year)

A lot of people were outraged by his Oscar snub, even critics. After watching the Oscars for so many years, 2019 confirmed to me that it's rigged, and I will fight to the death any bitch who says it's not rigged. I've never been so upset over a snub. I didn't cry, but my day was completely fucked.

It felt like they were trying to appease the audience with diverse wins and then at the end... "BEST PICTURE GOES TO... Green Book! (People rage) NIGHT!" I watched an interesting YouTube video about Oscar wins not too long ago, and it explained that intense Oscar campaigns began in the 90s because of that jerk Harvey Weinstein. Ever since then, nominations and wins have basically been bought by studios when it comes to the really crummy films with major star power. Interesting video to watch. I just read your note in the other topic addressing some having an issue with his costars not campaigning for him. Sigh. Campaigns shouldn't be so aggressive. I wish the industry would focus on the work alone. Wishful thinking!

Don't get me started on the Oscar diversity awards, it's bullshit, and I'm black! But alas, this is going off topic, we can continue it in the Oscar thread. Thanks!

We were definitely angry and heart-broken about the BB snub, but it is what it is. Doesn't negate how amazing and deserving Timmy was.
The thing with AW, they LOVE to call movies a flop. It is their favorite thing in the world. Whether because of a leaked script, those who went to test screenings and divulge when they shouldn't be, or because of a particular hate of an actor/actress. They just seem to take particular glee from it. I just discovered it last year, so was on quite a lot for Beautiful Boy but now, I go on it, from time to time. There are some threads I find interesting. But don't go into a particular movie thread, they can get unbearable with all the back and forth, arguing and criticism, even before the movie is out!
