I have watched the trailer multiple times. I found some dialogue jarring at first, but then once I got beyond my initial skepticism I realized I think what the movie is trying to do and fell for hopefully the magic of it all. In my case, don't strike or reverse it!
To sum up, Chalamet PLUS Wonka PLUS music PLUS Christmas PLUS London means I think we are getting a story in the classic British traditions of Peter Pan and Charles Dickens. I definitely am looking forward to watching the movie in the theatres even though Dune is more my cup of English Breakfast tea.
And how can anyone not laugh at the final scene of the trailer with Hugh Grant as an Oompa Loompa. Hugh was great in Dungeons and Dragons recently. It is so nice to see him having fun at this stage of hie career.
Finally, I love how Chalamet wanted to make a movie for kids and inner child innocence to shine a light in a tough world. I support that ambition and again look forward to December and Wonka!

It's becoming more apparent that Wonka will be released in December, regardless of the status of the Hollywood strikes.

I'm looking forward to Wonka during the holidays. I just want it to be good. At least with the strikes almost over, we can expect marketing and promotions w all the actors to kick back into gear.

Have you seen any of the Paddington films yet? The director, Paul King, did a beautiful job with them. A universal appeal to families and individuals. I loved the Paddington films. Please watch one to get a taste of what we'll get with Wonka.

Here is the latest and longest trailer for Wonka! It looks to be a highly entertaining family film and Timmy looks perfect as Wonka, and Hugh Grant as the oompa loompa is hilarious.
Due to the ongoing actor's strike, which as of this post, negotiations have hit a snag, I am hopeful that the strike will end within a month to allow Timothée to fulfill his promotional obligations for this film.

I never paid too much attention to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade that takes place in NY, even when I lived there. But this year, Warner Brothers is thinking outside of the box in promoting Wonka, and they unveiled a beautiful float that will participate in the parade which is seen all over the world.

I hear the Paddington movies are modern classics, but I haven't seen them yet. I just need to sit down and watch them one day.
That Wonka float is really cool. If the strike resolves within the next few days, I bet part of the film promotion could involve Timothee making a surprise appearance Thanksgiving morning on the float itself.
