Actually, I feel sad about that decision. It would be a good chance for me to see Dune part II at a premiere and at a film festival. I would have given a try to get a ticket for it.

Yes, a lot of people are disappointed Martina. I hope Dune or Wonka for that matter, premieres at a location you can easily get to so that you can see Timmy. |

Who do we need to know to become members of CinemaCon? Wealthy theatre owners? Lucky "$^@!!! got to see Dune 2 and Wonka trailers with Timothee in attendance.

I have rewatched the trailer multiple times today. What's striking to me is how really accurate the scenes and dialogue are to the book. When you add in the breathtaking costumes, cinematography, and visual effects, you feel like this universe is real 10,000 years from now. Dune is believable with its world building which is an amazing accomplishment.
The climax of the movie is going to be the fight between Paul and Feyd, which is being setup in the trailer. And it looks like the movie is going to do an amazing job showing us the imperial world and court outside of Arrakis.
I know everyone is talking about the glimpses we got of the sandworm, but for me Paul standing above a crowd was more jawdropping. Crowd scenes can look manufactured in movies, but this one in the trailer looked very much real. There's an awe and fear to it.
I just hope we get Dune: Part 3, because people who are unfamiliar with the books need to understand and see that Paul at first starts out as a hero but then in the end unleashes a terror on the universe resulting in so much death. Is he really a good man who just cant control what transpires? That character arc of his rise and fall makes the story more complex than it initially appears.
It's too early to say whether Dune has a shot at Best Picture, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't a nominee again. And if you are going to see one movie in IMAX this year, here it is!

I share your enthusiasm! I fully expect Dune Part II to receive just as many, if not more Oscar nominations than Part 1. Denis will get his Director nomination, and he should win as he was denied even a nomination for Part 1. I strongly believe that Dune Messiah will eventually be made. But Timmy will need to be well into his 30s so that the maturity can be seen in his face and his character arc goes into such dark terroritory, as it is his destiny.

Yesterday, Empire Magazine teased a Dune cover was coming out today. But little did they know that Warner Brothers would announce just hours later that Dune is being pushed to March 2024. Sigh.
Beautiful covers. Which one do you want?
