As Dune Part 2 is doing so well at theaters and nearing the $650 million worldwide box office mark this coming weekend, Dateline reveals that director Denis Villeneuve will tackle a fascinating project, Nuclear War: A Scenario, AFTER he completes Dune: Messiah. This news comes as confirmation that Messiah has been greenlit behind the scenes, and that is all the information I needed to create this new thread. The next question is when will filming start for Messiah, and will Warner Brothers be the studio partner with Legendary? Stay tuned.

Ok, it's official, straight from Legendary that Dune Messiah is a go. Legendary's twitter profile banner is glorious!

Great news! I'm happy for Dune 3 is on its way. I think it's an inevitable step to finalize the "Dune Saga" and show what will happen to these characters. The banner is beautiful.

I am of course excited as a fan of the books and movies by this inevitable news. Dune 2 is really awesome despite my quibbles with some of the story deviations like Chanis character in the ending. I understand the studios striking while the spice is hot and maybe going into production as early as 2025 or 2026 for this movie. However, I think they should wait at least two years and do it when Zendaya and Timothee are 30 years old. They obviously can't wait to film 15 years like in the book. And there is actually an in-universe explanation for the characters looking youthful despite being older ... doesn't exposure to spice prolong life. Anyways I'm truly excited to see how Denis concludes the story of Paul Atreides. These movies are new classics for me that I will rewatch years to come.
