What I did do this week was support Elizabeth Chambers' Bird Bakery by buying some cookies and the beautiful tote bag. I did it as a sign of solidarity for a woman-owned business, and out of sympathy for what this embarrassing news has done to her family. Remember, she has two very young kids who will read about all of this when they come of age and be very embarrassed. It was the least I could do, while also satisfying my chocolate chip cookie sweet tooth desires. I tagged Bird Bakery in the IG post and they replied back. Very nice. I'll be doing some grocery shopping this weekend and I'll use my bag. It's a gorgeous bag. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKC6xV7AQ8w Simone, let me know how long it took you to receive the cookies after you ordered them and how good they are. I LOVE chocolate chip cookies, but only if they are soft and chewy. It can be iffy ordering online and having them shipped days later. Although I ordered a box of Mrs Fields online for the security guards where I live and I took a few for myself and they were delicious. Edit: Hmm, I just went on their site and the shipping would be $15 (for just 6 cookies). Doubt I'll order any now, that is expensive.

Tracy, I wish I could drive to your house and give you a cookie or two. They are delicious. I think that due to the pandemic, businesses like Bird Bakery have a minimum required purchase. I had to buy 6 cookies at $3.50 each just to get the order, but I also bought the bag to justify the $15 shipping. It arrived in 2 days.

It's over for Armie. About 3 weeks too late, but apparently Elizabeth Wagmeister's Variety report was the final nail in the coffin.

I was in Rome in Sept so I visited some places mentioned in the CMBYN book. They're around Piazza Navona it's easy to find. That coffee is really good, one of the best I've ever got. The photo is not the best, there were too many people around, and I didn't want to take a pic of a bunch of people. The website of the caffé: caffesanteustachio.com/. I bought a cup as a souvenir, I love it. I couldn't get to the Basilica de San Clemente, and I'm sorry for that. http://instagram.com/p/CVBYwupgD8l

WOW! CMBYN would have been hot as shit if Shia LaBeouf wasn't a troubled nut case. The kid can act, and he's good looking too. What a shame, what could have been.

You know my view. I loved CMBYN just the way it was - wouldn't change a thing. It is a beautiful, beautiful film As for Shia, he was problematic back then and has been for years. Easy to see why Luca didn't go with him - the guy has numerous arrests, been sued for assaulting women, etc. At the time CMBYN was made, we knew nothing of Armie's issues. Those all came up last year/this year. Can't go back and recast and redo the film. And I wouldn't want to.

The speculation is just that Shia is a much stronger actor than AH and it's interesting to speculate about how he would have done with the character of Oliver. In the end, as we now see, both actors would have/and have tainted this film with their off screen real world gross behaviors. And because of that, we won't get a sequel, and ardent fans of AH will create a shit storm if Luca even dared to recast Oliver.

The final shoe has dropped. An incredibly disturbing investigative report will be released on Discovery channel about Armie Hammer, his sexual abuse/cannibal allegations, and the generation of Hammer men being evil sexual and violent deviants. To anyone still clinging onto the hope that there will be a sequel to CMBYN with Armie involved, here is your receipt that this will never happen because Armie is DONE in Hollywood.

The other shoe finally dropped and Luca Guadagnino has expressed an interest in continuing the CMBYN film(s), but just focusing on the "chronicles" of Elio. I agree with this, some fans devoted to the canon of the books will feel the story is incomplete, but I find Luca's approach refreshing and giving Elio/Timothée the films to himself where they can nurture Elio's evolution in a new direction. What do you think about this new direction? https://www.instagram.com/p/CiLL-qSLDsW

I like the idea of continuing Elio's story. He's the reason I love CMBYN, his experiences of growing up and falling in love. So it's a great idea.

I think Luca and Timmy enjoy working together so much, and were eager to do the sequel before the troubles with AH, that they decided to work on sequels and just focus on Elio, and I'm so thrilled about this decision.

I'm happy about that decision. They can work together and we get another amazing movie about Elio.
